We recently announced the winner of our flag competition in support of the B.I.G Polar Expedition.
We’re delighted to share that the team went out on the expedition and proudly flew the Involvement flag.
Completing the expedition wasn’t all plain sailing for the team. When Russia invaded Ukraine the logistical operation proved difficult and it made travel to the Arctic Ocean impossible.
Instead, the team travelled to Svalbard, the archipelago of islands to the north of Norway. The team completed a 10-day ski expedition collecting roughly 80kg of snow, ice and water samples for analysis.
The expedition was a success and provided a perfect training experience to prepare the team for the ski to the North Pole re-scheduled for April 2023.
